Quality Assurance Analyst

Role Description

As a member of the Project Delivery Team, your role will report directly to the Head of Delivery and will play a key part in ensuring that all CRM and App solutions are delivered to client expectations and Appssential’s high standards. This position provides the pivotal link between the Development Team and User Experience, ensuring quality standards are met and the solution delivers on the project brief, prior to client delivery.

You will represent the Testing Team in initial client meetings to understand the brief, assisting the Project Manager in writing the design specifications, before working closely with the internal development team to thoroughly test the product. The main focus of the role will be on Quality Assurance, however, you will be involved throughout all stages of the project.

Main Key Responsibilities

  • Represent the Testing Team in meetings with clients
  • Analyse requirements and fully understand the end-user functionality
  • Effectively relay client’s requirements to Development Team in a structured format to ensure that client’s expectations are met within set deadlines
  • Assist in developing the Performance Testing Strategy and Performance Testing Plans
  • Execute thorough testing in an accurate, efficient, methodical manner to ensure defects are identified, tracked and reported
  • Analyse test results to ensure quality standards are met and the solution meets/exceeds documented business requirements
  • Create and input all documented data conditions to thoroughly test changes to the systems
  • Interface with product development, support and other organisations to resolve possible product deficiencies
  • Report test results to the Lead Developer and  Project Manager
  • Re-test resolved defects
  • Provide input to the team in order to improve the test process as we develop our products
  • Develop strong relationships with clients, understanding their business needs and delivering an outstanding standard of customer service
  • Record both positive and negative test cases
  • Run a scheduled testing routing using automation scripts or tool
  • Overall responsibility for all quality assurance aspects of the company’s product and bespoke solutions.
  • Define testing methodology for manual & automated testing of Salesforce-based (non-mobile) solution we have built.
  • Ensure proper test coverage exists based on requirements, user stories, and design specifications.
  • Create and executes manual and automated test scripts for projects in a most efficient and modular fashion.
  • Coordinate test schedules, work, and resource plans; manage the progress of all test activities against the plan.
  • Establish testing entrance and exit criteria. Identify and manage the critical path of testing.
  • Provide guidance and training to enable other team members to meet/exceed expectations.

Experience

Essential:

  • Ability to collaborate and work in a small team environment as well as work independently with limited supervision and guidance while making sound decisions
  • Ability to logically communicate information (written and verbal) clearly within a business and technical environment
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to learn new systems and processes quickly
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and manage changing and competing priorities
  • Passion for quality and a determination to follow issues through to full resolution
  • Positive problem-solving attitude towards testing
  • Strong prioritisation skills, with the ability to gauge the relative significance of ‘bugs’ and prioritise appropriately
  • Ability to focus on deadlines and deliverables
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • A methodical approach and the confidence to ask questions and continuously look to improve the quality of the product
  • Passionate, supportive team player with an enthusiastic, collaborative approach towards working within a small company
  • Automation and manual testing experience
  • +2 years of in-depth QA Engineering experience.
  • Experience testing web applications. Solid experience with Selenium/Cucumber and test automation frameworks.
  • Experience writing code in languages like Python, Java, JavaScript, etc.
  • Experience with continuous integration and process management tools and such as Jenkins, JIRA , GitHub etc.

Desirable:

  • Experience and a keen interest in the technology sector
  • Previous experience in a Quality Assurance role would be desirable
  • Proven track record of working within a professional quality assurance effective team
  • Experience of Salesforce.com (Not essential as training will be provided)
  • Ideally successfully completed a Bachelor’s degree
  • English and Maths (minimum GCSE grade C)
